Application

Preparation
Avoid leakage from driving rain along adjacent materials.
Untreated wood or absorbent and porous surfaces should be protected from penetrating water before the tapes are installed.

Preparation
- After determining the joint width, select the tape size according to the specified tolerances.
- For application, you will need a tape measure, putty knife, scissors or knife, and possibly wooden wedges.
- The joint sides must be parallel (max. 3-degree deviation).
- Clean the joint sides of construction debris and mortar residue.
Application
- Cut off the pre-compressed start/end section.
- When unwinding the tape, take at least 1 cm extra (compression).
- For vertical expansion joints, start placing at the bottom. The tapes should be compressed.
- The tape should be applied from the front, recessed.
- For wet joints, TP600 ILLMOD 600 can be fixed with wooden wedges until the tape has expanded.
- Usage tips for frames: TP600 ILLMOD 600 should not be applied around frame corners. The tapes should be compressed.
- Usage tips for concrete construction: For highly absorbent substrates, it is recommended to pre-treat the joint side before applying TP600 ILLMOD 600. Keep the self-adhesive side at the bottom for horizontal application.
- Usage tips for cross joints: Vertically, let the tape continue. Horizontally, compress the tapes (extra length). Check corners after installation.
- By storing the rolls as cool as possible, the tape takes longer to expand in summer, giving more time to position and install the frame.
Material
A flexible open-cell polyurethane foam, impregnated with an acrylic-based, UV-resistant resin. The resin is water-repellent and fire-retardant.
