Application
Sika® Primer-210 is used to improve adhesion on many metals, such as aluminum, steel, and non-ferrous metals. The primer can also be used to enhance the adhesion of Sikasil sealants and adhesives. Consult the manufacturer for advice and perform tests before using Sika Primer-210 on materials that are susceptible to stress corrosion. This product is intended for use by experienced professionals only. Always perform tests on common substrates and under local conditions to determine the adhesion and compatibility of the adhesive and material.
Application Method
The surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, dust, and other contaminants. Adhesion can be improved with pre-treatment such as sanding, cleaning, and activating, or combinations of these, prior to the priming process.
Processing
Apply a thin but covering coat of Sika Primer-210 with a brush, felt, lint-free cloth, or foam applicator. Sika Primer-210 exhibits thermoplastic behavior up to three days after application, so higher temperatures or early load on the bonding surface should be avoided. The ideal application and surface temperature is between 15°C and 25°C. Apply Sika Primer-210 in one layer, ensuring that this layer is completely covering. Consumption and application method depend on the nature of the substrate and the production process. Seal the packaging carefully immediately after use.
