The substrate must be clean, dust-free, and grease-free. Use the correct tape size for each joint width. For joints with variable widths, multiple sizes (tape thicknesses) can be used.
ApplicationThe pre-compressed tape can be applied directly from the roll into the joint. Do not allow the tape to run into or around corners. Cut the tape to size using a knife or special scissors. Cut tape connections squarely and place them together with an overlap. The tape must be installed at least 2 mm recessed.
Choosing Tape SizeUse the correct tape size for each joint width. For variable joint widths, multiple sizes (tape thicknesses) may be applied. Consult the tape guide on our website for assistance in selecting the correct size. A rain barrier is not an airtight seal. DeformationsTP610 Illmod Compri is very flexible and elastic, allowing it to sustainably accommodate the following joint movements:
- Deformations (expansion and contraction) of building elements due to temperature fluctuations.
- Settlement differences between independently founded building parts.
- Vibrations.
Climatic influences (wind pressure and/or suction) and deformation of the building element due to bending can both negatively and positively affect the joint width between building elements. These joint movements can be accommodated provided the correct tape size (width/thickness) is used and the tape is not stressed beyond the Maximum Allowable Deformation (MAD).
Minimum and Maximum Joint WidthThe application range of each tape thickness (in expanded form) is expressed as minimum joint width and maximum joint width. The minimum tape thickness is achieved at maximum compression (high ambient temperature, building elements expand). The maximum tape thickness is achieved at minimum compression (low ambient temperature, building elements contract). For safety recommendations, refer to the safety data sheet.
