Application

Preparation
Avoid water penetration from driving rain along adjacent materials.
Untreated wood or absorbing and porous surfaces must be protected against penetrating water before the tapes are installed.

Preparation
- After determining the joint width, select the tape size according to the prescribed tolerances.
- For application, a measuring tape, putty knife, scissors or knife, and possibly wooden wedges are required.
- The joint sides must be parallel (max. 3-degree deviation).
- Clean the joint sides from construction debris and mortar residues.
Application
- Cut off the pre-compressed start/end piece.
- When unrolling the tape, take at least 1 cm extra (for shingling).
- For vertical expansion joints, start at the bottom. The tapes will be shingled.
- The tape should be applied starting from the front, working backward.
- For wet joints, TP600 ILLMOD 600 can be fixed with wooden wedges until the tape expands.
- Usage tips for frames: TP600 ILLMOD 600 should not be applied around the frame corners. The tapes will be shingled.
- Usage tips for concrete construction: For highly absorbent surfaces, pre-treat the joint side before applying TP600 ILLMOD 600. Keep the self-adhesive side at the bottom for horizontal applications.
- Usage tips for cross joints: Vertically, let the tape run through. Horizontally, shingle the tapes (extra length). Check corners after installation.
- Store the rolls as cool as possible, as this will delay expansion in summer, giving more time to position and install the frame.
Material
A flexible open-cell polyurethane foam, impregnated with an acrylic-based, UV-resistant resin. The resin is water-repellent and fire-retardant.
