Application
The facade expansion joint sealant, specially designed for sealing connection and movement joints. The SP525 Proflex Seal 25 provides durable and excellent adhesion to most substrates, such as anodized (electrolyzed) aluminum, polyacrylates, glass, concrete, ceramics, and plastics. It ensures a long-lasting elastic seal in movement joints between structural elements. The SP525 is recommended for sealing joints in the construction and for sealing joints around window and door frames.
Due to its food-grade certification (ISEGA certified), the SP525 is also highly suitable for sealing joints in interior walls and ceilings in the food and dairy industry.

Preparation
- Surfaces must be clean, dry, free of grease and dust, and free from any loose particles that may prevent proper adhesion.
- For optimal joint formation, use PR101 PU- or PR102 PE Backer Rod to avoid three-point contact.
- For optimal adhesion, the substrate must be primed. Refer to the primer table for the correct choice.
- Depending on the surface, it can be cleaned with AT115 or AT200 Cleaner.
- When determining the joint dimensions, ensure the joint is sized so that the MTV (Maximum Allowable Deformation) of the sealant is not exceeded.
- Joint width should be a minimum of 5mm and a maximum of 30mm.
- For widths up to 10mm, the width-depth ratio should be 1:1. For widths between 10mm and 30mm, a 2:1 ratio can be used.
Application
- Cut the nozzle to the desired width.
- Place the cartridge in a suitable gun (manual, pneumatic, or electric).
- Prepare the surface according to the preparation instructions.
- Apply the sealant without air pockets.
- For a smooth finish, use AA300 or AA301 Smoothing Spray.
- To achieve a clean joint, we recommend taping the joint edges with suitable tape on porous substrates.
